GOAL

Confusion is great. It gets me thinking.

When I was a kid my goal in life was to earn ample money and spend all my earnings on food, but this was my kid self who didn’t know what it takes to be a successful person and earn money.

My journey started here. I was a small girl but with big dreams. I was an average child who worked hard but found it difficult to live up to the expectations of my family. Days passed by and I completed my 12th and it was a struggle to choose a college. Thankfully, I knew I was a very vintage kind of person and I had an interest in the Victorian generation. So, I took admission as a B.A. English Honours student at Amity, Noida.

I was surprised to see how vast was the stream English literature in general. I was shocked to see that literature is not only about novels and poems but much more. The avalanche of thought which came to my mind after studying literature changed me as a person and shaped my personality. Being a literature student, helped me to become an open-minded individual. The university also granted me two certificates on Behavioural science and the French language. What I feel is Amity provides all kind of exposure, and this is not just in your chosen field. The university let me write 6 research papers, each semester, on two novels of my choice which gave me an experience of higher-level education.

Moving forward to my new venture, my Master’s degree in English. I chose to study MA at Chandigarh University. What I observed here is that the lecturers are very supportive and ready to help their students achieve their goals. The university provided a platform for me to polish my organizing skills by making me participate in different specializations, apart from my own. I could write my dissertation, which was something I thought I couldn’t ever, but my mentor guided me whenever I faced any confusion. When I was writing my dissertation, I realised my capabilities. I understood that I am a flexible person who can survive in any organization. My journey at Chandigarh University was pleasant and built my confidence tremendously.

My journey is still ongoing because there is no end to learning. Learning is a lifelong process which teaches a person in every phase of his or her life. The main thing is whichever field I choose I should be happy and satisfied. At present, I have applied for my National Eligibility Test (NET)\ Junior Research Fellow (JRF) exam which is yet to be held and I am looking forward to see where my path goes. It will be interesting for me to see where life takes me after 5 years down the lane.

At the end I just want to say believe in yourself and never stop trying as something good is waiting for everyone. When a person works hard, some day or the other, late or fast, your hard work will pay off.
